There are 11 not-so-common, yet very essential life lessons that are the key to a happy and successful life. In this episode of the Make Life Epic Podcast I talk about the lessons, their application and give you some examples from my own life.
My examples are either awesome (Success, I heeded the lesson!) or massive failures (I completely disregarded the lesson). Either way I hope you learn from my examples or at least get a laugh out of them. Trust me, my failures have been pretty amusing including dating a lesbian for 2 years when I lived in LA, convinced I could make her become attracted to me (embarrassing exercise in futility). That's just one of many, so enjoy..
In short the lessons are:
Lesson 1: Take Chances - Your level of success is directly related to the calculated risks/chances you take.
Lesson 2: Don’t be oblivious - Be aware of what’s going on around you, you do not live in a vacuum.
Lesson 3: Choose success over perfection - With success as a goal you’ll be more effective and happier
Lesson 4: Lighten Up - For a happy life don’t take anything too seriously, especially yourself.
Lesson 5: Buck Convention - Do not be afraid to go against the grain - the best people in history always have
Lesson 6: Choose to inspire - You will get your way more often if you inspire people rather than threaten them
Lesson 7: Put time limits on bad stuff - You can grind through just about anything if there is an end in sight
Lesson 8: Being scared is ok but don’t be intimidated - Fear is a natural emotion, intimidation is something someone does to you, usually a bully
Lesson 9: Embrace your crazy - Get used to being weird, we all are
Lesson 10: Shut up around experts - When someone is around who is smarter/more knowledge than you be quiet
Lesson 11: Believe in your ability to do awesome, totally epic stuff - Your belief in yourself will carry you further than anything else.
